Fitbit Blaze is a product released by the company Fitbit. It is a smartwatch activity tracker or an everyday watch. It was introduced into the market as competition to Apple Watch, Android Wear, Pebble, and many other fitness trackers. Fitbit released the Fitbit blaze in January of 2016, priced at $199. It is available on Amazon, Walmart, and more marketplaces.

A prime attraction of this smartwatch is that it is water-resistant. It comes with an interesting feature of long battery life with fast charging. This smart fitness watch is smart enough to have an attribute to sync wirelessly regardless of iOS, Android, or Windows. It can also be paired with Mac and Windows.

Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch is available in various colors. This has all the basic colors like black, silver, blue, gold, and some preset colors named gunmetal and gunmetal. The band colors are black, blue, pink, and plum. Most people are fascinated about it due to it looking somewhat similar to the Apple watch.

Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch is supported with time display, phone and social media notifications, two fitness trackers- namely Exercise and Fitstar. Besides, it has basic supports like a timer, alarm, and settings.

Features of Fitbit Blaze

On one of its features, Fitbit Blaze shows a summary of what is currently going on; this includes calories burnt, floors climbed, miles walked, and present heart rate or beats per minute. That is, it displays your active minutes. It has a large touchscreen, which makes the activity status readable.

Fitbit Blaze has features that track your full-day activity, including your heart rate. This smart fitness watch also has a feature called multi-sport tracking; it can trace sports and fitness activities like outdoor running, cycling, walking, and carrying weights. Besides these, this smartwatch can track your speed of walking or running on a treadmill and usage of any elliptical machine. It also sends smartphone notifications and tracks your sleep quality. An excellent feature of this is its five-day battery life.

Pairing It with Your Desired Device

Once the blaze is charged, you can pair it up with your desired device - be it your smartphone or personal computer. All you need to do for this step is to simply download the Fitbit application on your phone or computer. After that, you must input your personal data like height, weight, birth date, etc. It will guide you through any more details you want.

Once you start using it, you can check your updates on the ‘today’ section of both your watch and your device. For charging, you need to push the device out of the frame in an upward direction until it pops out; place that on the charging port and plugin.

Fitness with Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch

Fitbit blaze was introduced as a watch that focuses on fitness tracking. It was previously mentioned in this article that Fitbit Blaze supports two fitness trackers. They are Exercise and FitStar. If you go through the exercise section, you will see that it has options to track activities incorporating weights, run, cycle (bike), and treadmill, elliptical, and freestyle workout. Swiping to the next one, you find FitStar that includes in-app workouts. That is, by selecting that, we will be able to follow workouts that are built in the application of Fitbit. How cool and unique is that!

Fitbit is built to map your routes using the GPS of your device. It provides you your activity status on pace and distance while bike riding, walking, running, or exercising in general.

Fitbit is a Whole Workout in a Wearable

Fitbit Blaze is for those who work out few times a week and are not athletes. If you want to know your daily steps and calories burnt, you might want to lay your hand on this one here as it mostly focuses on fitness.

One super cool thing about this Fitbit Blaze is that you can take it for outdoor activities and workout without carrying your phone. You can later sync your data to your phone via Bluetooth. However, if you want to receive notifications of incoming calls or texts received or want to jam on some music while working out, you need to carry your phone.

Issues with Fitbit Blaze

Although Fitbit claims that it is completely water-resistant, it is proven to be water-resistant to an extent only. For example, you can go for a run on a rainy day wearing this on your wrist, but you surely can’t dive in the pool for swimming. You cannot take a shower having it on. It has some other issues why people want to change or return it- like clunky charging and awkward design.

A big drawback that this fitness watch has is, it does not have a factory reset. Most people have had complaints about how a smartwatch does not have an option to factory reset. People also objected to its inconsistent syncing; many highlighted that it doesn’t sync if it has a medium charge. There is a mixed opinion about the calories, and steps tracking of Fitbit Blaze; some say it is almost accurate and some complain about it calculating those even while sleeping or driving.

With these many concerns, a lot of people who used it want to return or change it for any other Fitbit product.

How to Reset Fitbit Blaze

You can face sync issues or some other small problem with your Blaze, which is quite normal for any device. But, unfortunately, Fitbit did not build in any option to factory reset the device. However, it is suggested to sync all the data in your account on the Fitbit app and remove the tracker. After that, you can simply select “Forget device” on your Bluetooth.

In this article, you can find a super simple process to easily reset your blaze. This will help you solve all the small problems that you may run into with your Blaze.

Steps to reboot

  • You can find a button on the left and two buttons on the right.
  • You must hold the left button and the bottom right button simultaneously. This action needs to be done for about 10 to 15 seconds.
  • You can see the alert messages about being all caught up and having no notifications beyond that.
  • Once you see the Fitbit logo, release your fingers.

Following these steps, you will be able to give a soft reset to your Fitbit blaze.

Steps to Reset

As previously mentioned, Fitbit Blaze does not have factory reset mode. However, following the steps mentioned below, you can remove its access and your data from the fitness watch.

  • Sync in all your data in your Fitbit account.
  • On settings, you can find an option called ‘Remove this Blaze from your account’
  • Select that and click on ‘forget device’ on the Bluetooth of your phone.

These three steps will remove your data and stop Blaze’s access to your account.
