In this new era where technology is taking the lead and data is the new big thing, there is almost nothing you cannot do with your smartphones. The rise of the internet and the use of social media has made your phone more than just something to make and receive calls. And it gets even better with devices like smartwatches. Taking the lead in the innovation to bring the smartwatch to the next level is the Apple Watch with their latest trick: Snapchat on Apple Watch.

Yes, you read that right! You can now watch Snapchat on your Apple Watch. Who says social media cannot be on your wrist? Technology has provided solutions to many of our problems and provided pleasures and fun for us. Here are the fun and pleasure category.

The Apple Watch is perhaps one of the most underutilized products from the tech giant. And it is not that those who own the watch do not want to make the best of it. There are just way too many tricks and features that to know them all will be a miracle. While we are not trying to tell you all the tricks here, we will tell you the most intriguing: getting Snapchat on your watch.

Although we still cannot get the Snapchat app on our wrists, even with the latest Apple Watch Series 6 released in 2021, there are ways to still watch Snapchat on your watch. The primary reason why this is so much a big deal is that Snapchat does not support Apple Watch. It is available for other iOS devices, like the iPhone, but not to watch OS.

In addition to that, Apple Watches do not come with cameras - at least not yet. Although there are ways to take pictures on your iPhone with your watch as a remote control, the lack of a camera on the watch makes it incompatible with the Snapchat app.

Below is a step-by-step guide on how to get Snapchat on Apple Watch; however, limited it is.

First, make sure your watch is connected to the internet. Once that is settled, tap the Siri button on the Siri watch face and launch Siri on your watch. Press the digital crown and hold it down until you can see the listening indicator.

The next thing is to speak to Siri. Say “Google Search” and wait till you get Siri’s response which should be something along the lines of “What do you want to search for?” This feature is only available for Watch OS 6 and Watch OS 7. They have a feature that allows Siri to produce a few search results on the internet for general questions.

After this, say in response to Siri, “” Siri will automatically bring up search results. Tap on “Open Page” from the results. Siri will navigate you to the Google Homepage. Search “Snapchat online” on google. You can use the type-in option or simply speak through the mic option.

Various options will come up. There are two different ways to go about it from here on. You can select “Login to Snapchat” from all the options. After this, you can navigate the Snapchat login page. You enter your username and password and tap login to get into your Snapchat account. This is for those who have mastered the ever troubling system of typing into Apple Watch with its small screen - compared to our regular iPhone, android phones, and other smartphones. If you are not one of them, the second option below is for you.

When the search results come out, tap and select "Snapchat." Instead of doing the above, tap on the three vertical dots icon on the top right corner of your Apple Watch screen. You will see some options come up. Click "Stories."

And that's it! You can watch people's Snapchat stories right there on your wrist. It will mostly be stories of celebrities, but if you succeed in logging into your account, you can view personalized stories. And if you don't get to log in, you can make use of the search icon and search for the stories of your favorite people.

Another thing you can do with your watch on your Snapchat is to take pictures. Snapchat does not have an official Apple Watch app, but just as we have seen above, there are tricks and ways around all these. The first thing to do is open Snapchat on your iPhone and go to the camera mode. Put your phone in the desired position - how you want it for the shot. Set your Apple Watch to default watch face screen and then swipe upwards to open the music glance.

Once you’ve set that, position yourself for the shot and then rotate - not push - the Digital Crown button on the side of your watch to take the picture. And there you have your picture. Quite simple, right? The logic behind it is even more straightforward: Snapchat lets you use your phone’s volume button to take photos, so you’re doing the same, only this time with your Apple Watch. Snapchat registers the signal as the same. With this, you can stop taking those hasty timer pictures or weird selfies and stay composed to take your shoot.

Final Thoughts

There you go. Those are the two ways you can get Snapchat on your Apple Watch. You cannot exactly download and install the app on your watch like with some other apps because Snapchat does not support Watch OS. But you can engage these tricks to enjoy your Snapchat experience on your watch and also take a few pictures on Snapchat with your watch.

To get the best of Snapchat, though, you’ll still have to return to your phone because the Apple Watch has a small screen, and some functionalities and features that are on the phone are not available on it. But who says you can’t have a little fun with your watch every other day? Enjoy!
